How long will my existing roof last?
When it comes to the lifespan of a roof, there’s no universal answer for this question. If installed correctly (and if the roof is unaffected by storm damage), most asphalt shingles should last between 20-50 years, depending on the quality of the roofing products used. If installed correctly (and if roof is unaffected by storm damage), a metal roof could last 50 years to a lifetime, depending on the quality and application of your metal roof. Flat roofs (EPDM or TPO) will last 15-30 years.

How do I know if my roof has storm damage?
Have you had any storms in your area with high winds? Does your roof have shingles that are missing or shingles that are flipped up or look loose? Have you noticed shingles in your yard? These are all telltale signs that your roof has sustained some wind damage.
Has your neighborhood experienced any hail storms? If you’re unsure of this question, we can help. We have a way of tracking hail swaths anywhere in NC for the past 8 years.
Do you have dark water stains on your ceiling? This is an obvious sign of a leak that might be caused by storm damage to your roof.
Can your roof be repaired? Will insurance cover a roof replacement? We can answer all of these questions when we inspect your roof.
Will Carolina Custom Roofing Services help me file an insurance claim for my roof?
Yes. We work with insurance companies daily and are very familiar with the insurance claim process. We will assess your roof and discuss our findings during your roof inspection. With your permission, we will contact your insurance company, assist with the scheduling of adjusters, and even be there to advocate for you during the adjuster’s assessment. We aim to make the claim process as easy as possible for our customers.
